The name Beautiful Gate originates from: Acts 3:2 Now a man crippled from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked for money. Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, "Look at us!" Then Peter said, Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk. |

ABOUT | History
Beautiful Gate Ministry was established in 1994 by a Dutch couple Toby and Aukje Brouwer. The initial project was a street children’s home in Muizenberg, Cape Town. In 1999 a hospice for children dying with HIV/AIDS was opened in Crossroads, Cape Town.
The name Beautiful Gate originates from the Bible passage of Acts 3:2 “Now a man crippled from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked for money. Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, "Look at us!" Then Peter said, Silver nor gold I do have, but what I have I give you in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”
Currently Beautiful Gate supports families and communities through its various projects in caring for its orphans and other vulnerable children and families while providing direct support to children and families in need.
